The Illustrious Dodo
As a native Oxonian I've visited the resident Dodo in The Natural History Museum many times.
And so did Charles Dodgson, (better known as Lewis Carroll), so much that he pops up in Alice's story.
My version is pen, ink and watercolour, painted directly onto a beautiful 1946 map of Oxford and the surrounding area.
The colours of the map are gorgeously muted, and fascinating in itself, pre Ringroad!
It has been sympathetically mounted and framed in a solid wood, soft grey frame
Overall size is 910mm by 640mm
